Men Should Take Care of Their Hair Too

You keep your hair trimmed and washed; that’s enough, right? Wrong! Unfortunately, some men don’t think far beyond cleaning and styling when it comes to their hair, but proper hair maintenance is just as important for men as it is for women. In fact, the hair care routine for men is almost the same as it is for women.

Get a Trim

Another way to keep your hair neat and well-kept, get a haircut at least every 4 to 6 weeks. Unless your goal is to grow longer hair, it’s wise to keep your hair trimmed because it’s the best way to get rid of damaged hair such as split ends.

Don’t Over-wash Your Hair

A common mistake committed by nearly every man is that washing hair quite often. Limit washing to two or three times a week and always condition your hair. This ensures the hair health and avoids losing out on essential oil from the scalp.

Be Light With the Products

Using too much hair gel, hair wax, hair spray or any other hair product makes your hair look unnatural and heavy. Use a minimalistic amount of these products when it comes to styling your hair the right way.

Keep it out of Chlorine

As tempted as you might be to just jump straight in the pool on a hot Houston day, don’t. The chlorine in pools can be disastrous for your scalp as it causes your hair to become dry and brittle. Protect your hair from chlorine by wetting your hair with clean water and applying a mild conditioner before you jump into a pool.
